Introduction: Clinical evaluation is one of the important educational fields for medical students, especially the Bachelor of Anesthesiology with the most units of clinical skills. The study endeavors to investigate the views of students and professors on the implementation of the logbook of clinical skills of Bachelor of Anesthesiology based on the state-of-the-art educational curriculum.

Methods: This cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted in the year 2022 on 10 professors and 75 anesthesiology trainees as well as undergraduate students using a census method. After needs assessment, searching in resources, and using the experiences of other universities in educational groups, using the 12 design principles, a clinical logbook was developed according to the latest revision of the educational program. After designing and implementing during a semester, using a questionnaire, the logbook was evaluated from the perspective of students and professors.

Results: Results revealed the logbook evaluation scores of professors 64.7 ± 9.428 and students 52.704 ± 12.081, both of which were at a high level. According to professors, the highest marks were assigned to the aspects of 'content quality' and the least to the option of 'necessary to use the log book'. From the students' point of view, the highest marks were given to 'the way of completing the log book' and the least expected consequences was assigned to 'the design of the format and process'.

Conclusion: According to the needs assessment and the scientific basis, a log book was developed, which was implemented in interaction with the individuals in the evaluation. The evaluation scores of the log book by students and professors were at a high level, which universities can use this model to evaluate the clinical skills of different disciplines. It is also possible to take steps to improve effectiveness and reduce costs through virtual platforms.
